Our History

Over 25 years ago, several families joined Dan Carlson in a home Bible Study. They were led by God to officially incorporate as the Mankato Evangelical Free Church on October 9, 1989. The first official worship service was held November 12, 1989 in the Holiday Inn. On June 26, 1991, the facility on N. Riverfront Dr. was purchased and renovations began with it being officially dedicated to the Lord on May 17, 1992. Our congregation moved into our current facility in North Mankato in March 2012 after twenty years in downtown Mankato.

Our church directory lists members and attendees of our congregation that reside in wide variety local towns in Southern Minnesota. In 2012, a group of 40 members were involved in planting an Evangelical Free Church in New Ulm, Minnesota. In the summer of 2016, we officially changed our name from the Mankato Evangelical Free Church to River Ridge Evangelical Free Church.

It is our desire to make disciples by helping people come to know Christ and grow in their relationship with Him in our local community and beyond!
